Children & Youth Programs

For 110 years, the YWCA of St. Thomas-Elgin has been providing programs and services to families in our community. We are committed to assisting children along the path of healthy development. Our staff develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in child development and we assist parents with making informed choices. The YWCA is proud to be an accredited High FIVE organization through Parks & Recreation Ontario.

HIGH FIVE®

HIGH FIVE® is a quality assurance program designed to support the safety, well-being and healthy development of children in recreation programs. They help sport and recreation organizations measure and improve quality through staff training, tools and resources. They also help parents to understand what to look for in a quality program. The YWCA of St. Thomas-Elgin is committed to the process of HIGH FIVE® and train all staff and volunteers in School Age Childcare, Day Camps, Recreation and Aquatics Programs.

The YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin is an accredited High FIVE® organization through Parks and Recreation Ontario.  In accordance with HIGH FIVE® we are committed to assisting children along the path of healthy development, our staff develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in child development and we assist parents with making informed choices. As part of our mandate, we are continuing to develop and implement quality improvement materials for children’s recreation and sport.
