JK/SK Full Day Childcare

Our Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten program offers a hands-on activity based experience for children within a warm, relaxed environment.

We want children to feel confident and secure to explore and grow in a stimulating educational and social environment.

Our Staff

The YWCA is very fortunate to have highly experienced and qualified staff working in our child care programs. All JK/SK childcare supervisors in the program have a background in Early Childhood Education. All staff are trained in High Five principles of healthy childhood development and maintain updated CPR and First Aid certification.

Licensing

A license must be obtained from the Ministry of Community and Social Services to operate a child care program. The Day Nurseries Act and its accompanying regulations form the basis of the licensing procedure. Our location is inspected and licensed by the ministry on an annual basis.

The Program

Our programs runs from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm. Children participate in circle time, gym activities, outdoor play, creative and dramatic experiences, explore in the science center and play in a variety of child based activity centres. The program provides children with a balance of fun and educational activities. Nutritious snacks are provided in both the morning and afternoon. Children are required to bring a bagged lunch.

Registration

Parents may register their children at 16 Mary Street West, St. Thomas by completing a registration form and making payment.
